The dot-com Crash (also known as dot-com bubble or I.T. Bubble) refers to the market fluctuation which was occurred in between 1995 – 2001 (with a climax on March 10, 2000 with the NASDAQ peaking at 5132.52).
The computer industry has its own different cycle just like any other industries. In the early days of 50s to the mid 70s mainframes computers from IBM and DEC was in use as a corporate-machines which was used mainly by the specialists of large organizations. On those days each large corporation used to have one corporate machine (i.e. mainframes computer) as large as a room which were used for critical applications, bulk data processing and statistics. Later on when Personal Computers were developed with a new approach “a stand-alone computer on a desk, used by an individual” the market begin to grow. MS-DOS was developed by Bill gates with his colleague. With these development and new possibilities, new companies were born. More jobs have been created.

A wildcard DNS record is a catch all record in a DNS zone that will match all non-existent requests for a domain name. Just like whenever you setup “catch all” or “nobody” email account, that will act as a “catch-all” account for any non-specified or misspelled username, as long as the domain name is correct. Then you will be able to retrieve these messages at the mail account you specify. So Wildcard DNS is just like that but is used on domain aliases of host name. On another word you can also call it as Catch all Sub domains.
For example I have setup Wildcard DNS on domain zeroarticles.info, I have not created any subdomain/aliases on that domain. So if someone visits profile.zeroarticles.info the wildcard will forward that user to www.zeroarticles.info, same thing applied on test.zeroarticles.info, abc.profile.zeroarticles.info
That means everything which comes as domain aliases will be forwarded to www.zeroarticles.info, so we can technically call that *.zeroarticles.info will forward to host name.

Every computer connected to the Internet is assigned a unique number known as an Internet Protocol (IP) address. IP addresses consist of four numbers separated by periods (also called a “dotted-quad”) and look something like 127.0.0.1.
Since these numbers are usually assigned to internet service providers within country-based blocks, an IP address can often be used to identify the country from which a computer is connecting to the Internet.
Because the numbers may be tedious to deal with, an IP address may also be assigned to a Host name, which is sometimes easier to remember. Hostnames may be looked up to find IP addresses, and visa-versa.
