Well I was working on internet for more than 3 years but haven’t heard or seen any word “Fusker” before. But some time back I accidentally stopped by the word Fusker. Fusker is a web technology which identify a range of data (known as fusker url) through a script and outputs it on web page. That data may include images, mp3s, videos, and so on.
For example, if you enter the text http://www.example.com/images/pic[1-16].jpg in the form on a fusker web page, the fusker technology would produce a page that displays all sixteen images in that range, from http://www.example.com/images/pic1.jpg through http://www.example.com/images/pic16.jpg. The web page is then presented to the person who did the fusker, and can also be saved on the fusker web server so that other people may view it. This is just a simple example of fusker technology. And this can be extend in such a peak that using UNIX/Linux cURL tool, specifically the “url-globbing” functionality the script can search specific page or a whole site for fusker url automatically.
According to Wikipedia, “Fusker can be a verb, a noun that describes a technology for the web, or a noun that describes the output web page of that technology. As a verb, “to fusker” is to identify a range of images to a fusker script that returns a web page that displays all of the images within the range.” The original fusker technology was created by Carthag Tuek, who made the Perl CGI script as a work-alike of the UNIX/Linux cURL tool, specifically the “url-globbing” functionality of this. It was first publicized in late 2001 and was removed two years later, as the bandwidth usage became too unwieldy. The original script also had a bug that would occasionally cause memory overflows.
There is a script called Fashion N’ Fusker V1.0 developed by a Nepalese programmer from a base level which is based on same fusker technology. The script is published and implemented on its official website www.fashionsansar.com
“… I then looked after various websites that uses Fusker Technology. I was mush impressed with the fusker technology and got and idea to run a site suing this method. I searched for the original script made by Carthag Tuek. It was too hard to get that software. Believe me I searched it for a long hours. Finally I got one of the versions of the script and installed here. But as soon as I installed it my site was hacked. May be there is some security leakages within the script. As I was also encountering lots of MySQL relates errors through that script and I was pretty much interested in this technology I decided to hand code it from the base level. So then I started coding it from my knowledge and study and release the initial version of Fusker Technology named as “Fashion N’ Fusker V1.0″…” stated by the Nepalese programmer at fashionsansar.com
Furthermore the site states “… Fusker site does not store your data in it’s own server. It will be requested from your server each time the user visit the image. So if you want to completely block particular site to deny your Images to be displayed then we strongly suggest to .htaccess blocking rules or use Enable HotLink Protection…” and have given the step by step tutorials and codes to block your data being hot linked.
As hearing the technology it really may be interesting and a huge challenging on programming part. So the author of the “Fashion N’ Fusker V1.0″ have fixed the price of this script as $55.00 with free Installation, free upgrades, and free support.
You can contact the author at info@fashionsansar.com to purchase the script.

Script’s site doesn’t work anymore, redirects to http://www.pictures.com.np/
…
Until the 2.0 version of the fusker script is released; all the traffic for the domain fashionsansar.com is redirected to pictures.com.np
You can check the demo of the script and purchase the script as well from http://fusker.pictures.com.np
Thx, but I wonder what new features will v2 have?
